Rachael grew up on the coast in Santa Cruz, California and is currently living and working in Waialua, Hawai'i. Roehl was fortunate to be raised in a family of art teachers, painting and drawing most of her childhood. She studied art as well as marine science at Cabrillo Community College before moving to O'ahu in 2014, where she finished her degree in environmental sustainability with a minor in studio art. Her fascination with coastal and mountainous landscapes in California and Hawai'i is where she draws inspiration for her work. As an environmental activist, she seeks to portray her reverence for the natural world through her art.
Roehl currently practices stone lithography, screenprinting, relief print, monoprinting, and multimedia art.
